GETfit is a new event series that brings together people seeking fitness guidance with fitness professionals qualified to give it. A GETfit event features a diverse crew of local diet and exercise pros – personal trainers and nutritionists – there to serve as a live, in-person 'fitness hotline' at no cost to event-goers. GETfit attendees receive one-on-one personalized guidance from the event's exhibiting fitness professionals. Held at key fitness calendar times of the year – in early-January, after New Year’s resolutions, and again in early-spring – GETfit events inspire and educate a wide range of attendees: from fitness first-timers; to those stuck in the ‘battle of the bulge;’ to those who have achieved a fit lifestyle but are still seeking improvement, new perspectives, and insights. GETfit events also feature corporate sponsors in line with the event’s mission, such as adidas, Energy Kitchen, and Glaceau/smartwater. The inaugural GETfit event took place in New York City on Sunday, January 10th 2010. With Chicago and L.A. GETfit events slated for 2011, a rollout to the top 10 US cities is set to occur over the next three years.
